Phillipians 2:14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing; 15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world.
Believe it or not, we do have to live aware of the worlds standards of morality. Even if what we are doing isn't actually wrong, if it makes us so that we are no longer above reproach, then it will create an image of Christians that is tainted. This could be based on our actions (being at a bar late night, even if just as the designated driver), or our words (gossip, cuss words, or crude language).
Now I'm not saying that if your friend calls you, drunk out of his socks, and needs a ride home that you should say no. As a Christian, we are free from the law.
Romans 7:4 So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.
Just remember, we are still suppose to shine Christ in whatever we do.
Think about it.
